What this Trial Is About
Researchers are evaluating the long-term outcomes and factors that affect prognosis in patients who have recovered from hepatitis B virus related acute-on-chronic liver failure (ACLF). This condition involves sudden liver failure on top of chronic liver disease, mainly caused by hepatitis B virus infection in China. Previous studies focused on short-term survival, but this research aims to better understand the long-term health of patients after spontaneous recovery from this condition. The study retrospectively reviews clinical data of patients with hepatitis B associated ACLF admitted to the infectious diseases department at the Third Affiliated Hospital of Sun Yat-Sen University. It includes a telephone follow-up survey to investigate their long-term prognosis. There are no intervention treatments or study drugs, as this is an observational study focused on monitoring outcomes over time. Participants will be observed for adverse events over a period of five years. Researchers analyze clinical events and survival data collected during hospitalization as well as follow-up information gathered by phone. The study aims to identify risk factors that influence long-term survival and health status in these patients, helping to improve understanding and management of hepatitis B related ACLF.
