What this Trial Is About
Researchers are evaluating the clinical performance of two types of partial-coverage restorations made from composite resin for molars that have received root canal treatment. The study compares restorations made using Computer-Aided Design and Computer-Aided Manufacturing CADCAM milling technology with those made using 3D printing technology. The main goal is to see if 3D-printed restorations perform as well as CADCAM-milled ones in terms of survival, success, and complications over a three-year period. Participants will receive either a CADCAM-milled or a 3D-printed partial-coverage restoration onlay or overlay on an endodontically treated molar. All restorations are created through a fully digital process including tooth preparation, immediate dentin sealing, digital scanning, fabrication, and adhesive cementation. The study uses standardized procedures for both groups, with materials provided by commercial manufacturers. Participants are randomly assigned to one of the two restoration types. Throughout the study, participants will attend follow-up visits at 12, 24, and 36 months after treatment. Clinical evaluations will be performed by two independent, blinded evaluators using revised World Dental Federation FDI criteria and standardized photographs. Researchers will assess clinical performance, restoration survival, success and failure rates, and complications during the three-year follow-up. Participants must be able to provide consent and attend all visits for proper monitoring.
