What this Trial Is About

Researchers are evaluating whether a multimedia educational program can improve physical fitness and activity levels in adults with chronic kidney disease (CKD), stages 1 to 3b. This study aims to find out if using videos and motivational content helps patients increase their endurance, strength, flexibility, and health behaviors more effectively than standard education. The trial is sponsored by Fu Jen Catholic University Hospital and focuses on practical exercise education for CKD management. Participants will be randomly assigned to either a multimedia health education group or a standard education group. The multimedia group will receive videos demonstrating proper exercises, safety tips, and motivational guidance over 12 weeks, while the standard group will receive traditional CKD education. Both groups will undergo the 12-week intervention and assessment period to compare outcomes. Throughout the study, participants will complete physical tests including a six-minute walk, grip strength, chair-stand, and flexibility tests, as well as body composition measurements like BMI and waist-to-hip ratio. They will also fill out a physical activity questionnaire. These assessments will take place before and after the 12-week intervention to measure changes. Researchers will use these results to evaluate the clinical value of multimedia education in supporting exercise habits and fitness improvements in CKD patients.
