What this Trial Is About

This research investigates the use of multiple heart imaging methods to better understand right ventricular function and improve risk prediction in adults with Group 1 pulmonary arterial hypertension PAH. PAH is a progressive disease that affects the blood vessels in the lungs and places stress on the right side of the heart. The study evaluates whether adding detailed imaging information to current risk models helps identify patients at higher risk of disease worsening over a short period. Adult patients with established Group 1 PAH who are already undergoing routine follow-up and have recent right heart catheterization and cardiac magnetic resonance imaging data will be included. Clinical, laboratory, echocardiographic, hemodynamic, and imaging data will be collected at the start, with follow-up clinical assessment and echocardiography performed after 6 months. The study does not involve experimental treatments but observes patient outcomes related to imaging findings. Participants will undergo data collection at baseline and 6 months, including clinical exams, blood tests, echocardiography, cardiac MRI, and invasive heart catheterization data review. Researchers will measure changes in imaging-derived heart function, risk classification adjustments, and links to short-term clinical worsening such as treatment escalation or hospitalization. The study aims to improve how risk is assessed and guide future clinical decisions, with a total participation duration of about 6 months.
