Hip adductor spasticity is a common problem in people with central nervous system disorders such as cerebral palsy and multiple sclerosis. This condition can negatively impact walking, stability, and daily activities like personal hygiene and dressing, reducing independence. Researchers are evaluating the effects of obturator nerve cryoneurotomy, a procedure offered according to treatment guidelines, to better understand how long its benefits last before nerve regeneration occurs. The study is a single-center, prospective observational trial conducted at a multidisciplinary spasticity clinic that includes physiatrists, an orthopedic surgeon, and physiotherapists. Patients who are already scheduled to receive cryoneurotomy as part of their treatment will be assessed. Most participants have previously received treatments such as botulinum toxin injections and bracing. The study adds a 10-meter walk test to standard clinical assessments without altering medical care. Participants will undergo evaluations of hip abductor active and passive range of motion, spasticity levels, and inter-knee distance at baseline, one month after the procedure, and every three months for up to one year. Additional assessments include ability to perform hygienic care, walking ability, gait observation, pain levels, and patient satisfaction using the Goal Attainment Scale. These measures will help researchers understand the treatment's impact over time.
