Transforming Healthcare in Post-Pandemic Recovery: Using a Patient App to Improve Care and Reduce Provider Burden (One-4-ALL Initiative)

This research aims to improve health outcomes for individuals and communities by enhancing the patient experience, reducing healthcare costs, and supporting healthcare providers, especially in the wake of challenges caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. It focuses on addressing health disparities affecting racially and culturally minoritized families and low-income populations who often face poorer health outcomes. The study evaluates the use of a patient app designed to help families prepare for clinical visits and improve communication between home, primary care, and specialty care. Participants are randomly assigned to either use the One-4-ALL app or receive standard care. The study explores how the app can increase patient throughput, reduce administrative burdens on providers, and improve care quality. The study also examines factors affecting the app's implementation to support future broader use. Participants will be observed over a 12-week period post-intervention to assess healthcare quality, provider and patient satisfaction, and how well the program tool is accepted. Data will be gathered through various evaluations to measure these outcomes. The study involves guardians of patients and healthcare providers, focusing on how technology might transform healthcare access and provider experiences during post-pandemic recovery.
