What this Trial Is About

Researchers are evaluating whether the Parents Together program, which combines virtual group sessions for parents and coaching calls by a Public Health Nurse, can improve healthy eating habits, physical activity, sleep, and mental health in children aged 2 to 5 years and their caregivers. The study compares this intervention to regular health care to see its effects on child development and family well-being. Participants will be randomly assigned to one of two groups for six months. One group will attend an 8-week online parent education program and receive up to four coaching calls focused on applying healthy lifestyle skills and building community connections. The other group will continue with regular health care without additional intervention. During the study, researchers will assess children's eating behaviors, dietary intake, physical activity, sleep patterns, social and emotional development, and physical measurements like body mass index and blood pressure. Families will be monitored at 6 months post-randomization to evaluate changes in parenting skills, family psychosocial health, and child development outcomes.
