Study of Heart Attack Characteristics and Outcomes in Adults 45 and Younger in Serbia

Researchers are studying acute myocardial infarction heart attack in young adults aged 45 years or younger in Serbia. This national, multicenter observational study aims to better understand the characteristics, risk factors, and outcomes of heart attacks in this younger population compared to older groups. The goal is to identify factors that contribute to these events and improve prevention and treatment strategies. Participants will undergo routine tests during their hospital stay, including blood sample collection for advanced analyses such as genetic testing. The study will analyze clinical, demographic, angiographic, and laboratory data, including imaging techniques like echocardiography and cardiac MRI for specific cases. Follow-up check-ins will monitor health outcomes over time. During the study, researchers will collect detailed patient information, including medical history, test results, and treatment details. Various heart imaging methods and laboratory markers will be evaluated. The primary outcomes focus on the incidence and risk factors of heart attacks in young adults, while secondary outcomes assess plaque characteristics, comorbidities, genetic predispositions, and treatment results. Participation is voluntary, and data confidentiality is maintained throughout the study, which runs until 2026.
