What this Trial Is About

Researchers are studying acute myocardial infarction (heart attack) in young adults aged 45 years or younger in Serbia. This national, multicenter study combines past and ongoing data to understand the clinical, demographic, and angiographic features of these patients. The study aims to identify risk factors such as smoking, diabetes, hypertension, and genetic predispositions to improve prevention, early diagnosis, and treatment strategies for premature heart attacks. Participants diagnosed with acute myocardial infarction will have routine clinical and laboratory tests during hospitalization. Specific blood samples will be collected for advanced analyses, including genetic testing. Imaging methods like echocardiography, angiography, and specialized imaging for plaque assessment will be used. The study will monitor treatment methods, including interventions and medication use, and follow patients over time to assess outcomes. During the study, participants will provide demographic and clinical information, undergo various diagnostic procedures, and have follow-up visits to track their health status. Researchers will evaluate outcomes such as the incidence and prevalence of heart attacks, demographic characteristics, angiographic findings, and major adverse cardiovascular events during hospitalization and follow-up. Participation is voluntary, and patient data will be kept confidential.
