What this Trial Is About
Researchers are evaluating a digital cancer rehabilitation program called Strong Survivors for women who have undergone breast cancer surgery. This program delivers semi-individualized exercise instruction in real time within small and large group settings. It is designed by physicians and exercise experts to support cardiovascular fitness, balance, mobility, and muscular strength over a 16-week period. The study focuses on breast cancer survivors recovering from surgery, aiming to provide tailored exercise support in a remote setting. The Strong Survivors program includes twice-weekly online classes using Zoom. The first two weeks involve small group sessions with up to five participants, followed by two weeks of mixed small and larger group classes with up to 15 participants. The remaining 12 weeks continue with larger group classes twice per week. Exercises are standardized but adjusted for individual abilities and limitations. Participants need access to a device with a camera at least 7 inches in size and adequate space at home to perform exercises safely. Participants will complete clinic visits before starting and after finishing the program to assess cardiorespiratory fitness, strength, balance, posture, and quality of life. Researchers will track attendance during the 16 weeks and evaluate physical performance and system usability through questionnaires. The study includes various measurements like fall risk, muscular strength, body composition, and quality of life assessments to monitor progress throughout the program.
