The trial uses a randomized design to fairly compare the two grafting approaches and includes detailed safety and outcome assessments throughout the study period.

Eligible

You may qualify if you...

  • Primary isolated coronary artery bypass graft (CABG) patients with disease of the left main coronary artery and/or left anterior descending and circumflex coronary system, with or without right coronary artery disease
  • Adults aged 18 to 70 years
  • Scheduled for primary isolated non-emergent CABG
  • Willing and able to provide informed consent
Not Eligible

You will not qualify if you...

  • Older than 70 years
  • Single graft patients
  • Emergency operations
  • Evolving myocardial infarction within 48 hours before surgery
  • Left ventricular ejection fraction less than 35%
  • Any concomitant cardiac or non-cardiac procedure planned
  • Previous cardiac surgery
  • Severe preoperative end-organ dysfunction (dialysis, liver failure, respiratory failure), cancer, or other comorbidities reducing life expectancy to less than 5 years
  • Inability to use saphenous vein or both radial and right internal thoracic arteries
  • Anticipated need for coronary thrombo-endarterectomy
  • Planned hybrid revascularization
