What this Trial Is About
This research aims to study individuals with primary varicose veins to understand the occurrence, risk factors, and natural progression of chronic lower limb vein disease. It is a multicenter, prospective observational cohort study that collects ongoing data to better characterize this condition over time. Participants include those with and without signs of chronic venous disease as classified by the CEAP system, such as telangiectases, varicose veins, venous edema, skin changes, and ulcers. Data is gathered annually during the last quarter of each year and recorded in a digital database that is continuously updated. The study does not involve treatment but observes the natural course of the disease. Throughout the study, participants undergo yearly clinical and ultrasound assessments of their venous system to monitor disease development and complications, including chronic venous insufficiency and superficial vein thrombosis. The primary outcomes measured include the incidence and natural course of chronic venous disease at one year. Participation may continue long term with regular follow-ups to maintain up-to-date data on vein health.
