Helping Adults in Sarasota, Manatee, and Charlotte Counties Build Stronger Relationships, Improve Parenting, and Gain Financial Stability through the REACH Program

What this Trial Is About

This research aims to help adults in Sarasota, Manatee, and Charlotte counties of Florida develop skills for healthy relationships, parenting, economic self-sufficiency, and family stability. Focusing on low-income, at-risk individuals, the study addresses challenges like high rates of single-parent households and economic struggles to improve quality of life and child well-being. The program builds on successful healthy marriage programming and integrates employment support to strengthen families. Participants in the intervention group will be assigned a Case Manager and attend weekly Marriage and Relationship Enhancement Skills MRES classes. They will also meet regularly with their Case Manager, either weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly as needed. A control group will be placed on a wait-list and offered the same services after completing the final 22-week follow-up. The study collects data at baseline, 10 weeks, and 22 weeks after baseline using various assessment tools. During the study, participants will complete surveys and assessments including the Family Environment Survey FES, Revised Dyadic Adjustment Scale RDAS, and Economic Self-Sufficiency Scale ESS. These measures will evaluate family environment, relationship quality, and economic stability. The study spans 22 weeks of follow-up after baseline assessments, with data collected to monitor progress and outcomes related to relationship and family skills.
