This research aims to explore what factors contribute to anxiety and depression in patients who have herpes zoster neuralgia. It focuses on how certain blood markers and brain activity patterns, seen through functional brain magnetic resonance imaging, change in these patients. The study is observational and seeks to understand these mental health aspects alongside the neuralgia condition. Patients with herpes zoster neuralgia will be evaluated using the Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale (HADS) questionnaire. Based on their scores, they will be grouped by presence or absence of anxiety or depression. Researchers will collect clinical data, blood samples to measure specific inflammatory and neurotrophic markers, and brain images to analyze changes related to anxiety or depression. During the hospital stay, participants will be assessed with the HADS questionnaire and undergo blood tests measuring various interleukins, interferon, brain-derived neurotrophic factor, and C-reactive protein levels. Functional brain MRI will be performed to study brain activity patterns. The main measurement is the HADS score averaged over about one week. This study involves careful data collection to understand the mental health risk factors in this patient group, with the total observation occurring during the hospital stay.
