Researchers are investigating the effects of two types of core stabilization training on physical fitness and functional ability in children with Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis (JIA), a chronic autoimmune disease causing joint inflammation, pain, and reduced movement. This trial aims to evaluate whether traditional structured exercises or exergaming-based exercises better support improvements in these children. Participants will be randomly assigned to one of two groups. One group will do a structured core stabilization program on a balance board with supervised exercises twice a week for 45 minutes over 12 weeks. The other group will use an exergaming device called the SEG-BOARD to perform similar core exercises in an interactive gaming format, also twice a week for 45 minutes over 12 weeks. Both programs focus on improving trunk stability, balance, and muscle strength. During the study, children will be assessed at the start and after 12 weeks using physical tests such as the 30-Second Sit-to-Stand, 6-Minute Walk, and 10-Step Stair Climb tests. Additional fitness tests, pain and fatigue assessments after each session, and satisfaction ratings at the end will also be recorded. Supervised sessions and detailed monitoring aim to track improvements in physical function and exercise enjoyment over the 12-week period.

Eligible

You may qualify if you...

  • Be between 8 and 13 years old
  • Have been diagnosed with Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis for at least 6 months
  • Be willing to participate in the study
Not Eligible

You will not qualify if you...

  • Have balance problems caused by vestibular or neurological conditions
  • Have had surgery in the last 6 months that may interfere with exercise
  • Be unable to comply with the exercise program

Treatment

Duration - 12 weeks

Participants undergo a core stabilization training program, either structured exercises or exergaming-based sessions, supervised by a physiotherapist to improve trunk stability and postural control.
