What this Trial Is About
Researchers are evaluating the use of magnetocardiography (MCG) to diagnose and monitor the progression of amyloidosis, a condition affecting the heart. This observational study aims to compare the effectiveness of MCG with other methods like electrocardiogram (ECG) in tracking disease changes over time. The study is sponsored by Mayo Clinic and focuses on adult patients with amyloidosis. Participants will undergo magnetocardiography, a non-invasive and radiation-free imaging technique that measures the magnetic fields produced by the heart's electrical activity. The study will assess the diagnostic accuracy of MCG compared to ECG at several time points: baseline, 6 months, 12 months, and 18 months. This will help researchers understand how well MCG detects and follows amyloidosis progression. During the study, participants will be evaluated at these scheduled intervals with MCG and ECG tests to measure heart function. Researchers will analyze results using Receiver Operating Characteristic (ROC) curves and Area Under the Curve (AUC) metrics to determine test performance. The study will continue until November 2027, with ongoing monitoring of participants' condition and safety throughout the observation period.
