What this Trial Is About

Researchers are evaluating how listening to nature sounds in a virtual reality forest affects pain, vital signs, comfort, and patient satisfaction during chest tube removal. This randomized controlled experimental study aims to find out if there are important differences between patients using the virtual reality experience and those receiving standard care during this procedure. Patients in the intervention group will wear a VR headset and headphones to view a relaxing forest scene and hear nature sounds for 5 to 10 minutes during chest tube removal. Both the intervention and control groups will have their pain, vital signs, comfort, and satisfaction measured at specific times before and after the procedure. The control group will receive usual care without the VR experience. Participants will complete forms about their demographics and rate pain, comfort, and satisfaction using scales before, immediately after, and 10 minutes following chest tube removal. Vital signs such as blood pressure, heart rate, respiratory rate, and oxygen levels will be monitored. The study will last from 10 minutes before to 10 minutes after chest tube removal, capturing immediate and short-term effects of the intervention.
