The aim of the proposed project is to investigate the effects of a single session of physical exercise on stress regulation, cognitive and emotional functioning, and associated neurophysiological processes (saliva and blood samples) in patients with borderline personality disorder. Who Can Participate
Eligibility Criteria
You may qualify if you...
- Estimated verbal intelligence quotient greater than 80
- Diagnosis of borderline personality disorder according to DSM-5
You will not qualify if you...
- Neurological disorders
- Health conditions interfering with exercise safety, such as coronary heart disease
- Visual impairments that may interfere with cognitive task performance
- Endocrine disorders, including hyperthyreosis or diabetes mellitus
- Psychiatric disorders including psychosis or affective disorders with psychotic symptoms, schizophrenia, substance abuse or dependence, autism spectrum disorders, anorexia nervosa
- For healthy controls: diagnosis of borderline personality disorder or intake of psychotropic drugs
