AI-Summary

What this Trial Is About

Researchers are working to improve fetal MRI imaging by designing special MRI coils for pregnant women and testing new image capture techniques. The goal is to get clearer and more reliable fetal MRI images compared to current clinical methods. This project focuses on both structural and physiological imaging of fetuses by developing new MRI pulse sequences and faster imaging coils. Pregnant women who can have an MRI may join either a 60-minute full research MRI scan or a 15-minute add-on research MRI scan. The full scan tests an investigational MRI coil made for pregnant women alongside new MRI sequences to enhance image quality and speed. The add-on scan is for women who already have a clinical fetal MRI scheduled at Boston Children's Hospital and will test the new MRI sequences. Participants will undergo MRI scans lasting either 15 or 60 minutes depending on their group. Researchers will compare the quality of the research MRI images to standard clinical fetal MRI and obstetric ultrasound images. They will also compare physiological data from the research MRI to ultrasound data. The study includes safety monitoring and aims to complete data collection by mid-2028.
