What this Trial Is About

Anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injuries are common knee ligament injuries that cause joint instability and impact an athlete's wellbeing. This observational study focuses on translating and adapting the Marx Activity Rating Scale (MARS) and the Knee Stability in Sports/Cutting-Pivoting Ability (KSS/CPA) scale into Arabic. The goal is to analyze these scales' psychometric properties in Saudi athletes with ACL injuries to support treatment decisions and improve understanding of patient concerns. The study involves 100 participants, including athletes with unilateral ACL injuries and healthy controls, recruited from various Saudi hospitals and clubs. Participants will complete several patient-reported outcome measures, including the Arabic versions of the MARS and KSS/CPA scales, along with the Knee Injury and Osteoarthritis Outcome Score, Lysholm Knee Score, and the International Knee Documentation Committee Subjective Knee Form. The study will assess internal consistency, construct validity, and content validity of these scales. Participants will provide informed consent before joining and will complete questionnaires that take between 1 to 3 minutes each. Researchers will analyze the data using statistical methods, including Cronbach's alpha and Spearman's correlation coefficients. The study aims to help improve patient care and research related to ACL injuries. The total participation is expected during a single assessment, with no long-term follow-up mentioned.
