What this Trial Is About
Researchers are reviewing medical records and charts of patients who had hip fracture surgeries at their institute starting from 2010. The study looks at surgical outcomes such as postoperative complications within 30 days, length of hospital stay, and mortality. It also examines patient background characteristics and possible factors linked to these outcomes. This is a retrospective observational study with multiple groups and exposures, including nested case-control analyses. The study focuses on patients who underwent surgical management of hip fractures, including fixation or replacement procedures. Since it is retrospective, the research team analyzes existing data from surgeries performed at their institute without new interventions. No comparison groups or experimental treatments are involved. Participants' past medical records are reviewed for key information about their surgeries and recovery. The researchers collect data on complications occurring within 30 days after surgery and track hospital stay duration and mortality rates. This review helps understand factors influencing recovery and surgical outcomes over a long period, from 2010 onward.
