What this Trial Is About
Researchers are evaluating a biophotonic nanoparticle-enabled laser blood test called LASERBLOOD to predict the development of Pancreatic Ductal Adenocarcinoma PDAC in adults at risk. This study focuses on people with diabetes, obesity, Intraductal Papillary Mucinous Neoplasm IPMN, or other cystic pancreatic diseases. It also aims to assess how well treatments for affected patients are working by using this new diagnostic technology. Participants will provide biological material, such as blood samples, which will be analyzed using the innovative biophotonic laser technology. This diagnostic procedure is designed to detect PDAC early by examining fluorescence lifetime fingerprints and nanoparticle-protein complexes in plasma. The study will monitor diagnostic accuracy and the relationship between the test results and disease stage within 12 months of enrollment. During the study, participants will undergo the blood test at the start and may be followed for up to a year to confirm diagnosis and monitor the disease progression. Researchers will collect and analyze plasma samples, clinical data, and treatment effectiveness. The primary outcome is the accuracy of the LASERBLOOD test in detecting PDAC. Participants will be monitored for safety and outcomes throughout the study period, which lasts until August 2029.
