What this Trial Is About

Researchers are conducting the Brazilian Registry of Menopausal Health, also known as the EMBRACE STUDY, to understand health and quality of life in people aged 35 to 65 who are in the menopausal transition or postmenopausal phase. This study includes cisgender women and transgender men who have not undergone surgical or hormonal gender reassignment. It aims to explore how regional differences and socioeconomic factors affect health, knowledge, and perceptions of menopause across Brazil. This is an observational, cross-sectional, population-based study without interventions. Participants are divided into three age groups (35-44, 45-54, and 55-65 years) and recruited from public and private outpatient services across 27 state capitals in Brazil. Data from transgender men will be collected for exploratory analysis. There are no treatment procedures; the study focuses on collecting health and social information during one medical appointment. Participants will attend a single medical appointment where researchers will gather data through interviews, questionnaires, and clinical evaluations. Assessments include menopausal status, clinical, anthropometric, physiological, laboratory, social, demographic, and lifestyle profiles. Standardized questionnaires will measure quality of life, work productivity, anxiety, and depression. The primary outcome is the proportion of participants in menopausal transition or postmenopause. The study will also analyze knowledge and self-perception of menopause. Participation lasts for the duration of one visit.
