What this Trial Is About
Researchers are evaluating the best combination of new components in CARRII, the first automated online intervention aimed at reducing alcohol-exposed pregnancies AEP. This study focuses on Native women and others who can become pregnant, aiming to find an effective and affordable online intervention suitable for Native communities. The trial will explore how to balance reducing AEP risk with keeping costs manageable. Participants will be randomly assigned to one of eight groups that receive different combinations of the CARRII intervention components over a 3-month period. The study includes 512 participants and is designed to identify the most efficient combination of intervention elements to lower AEP risk. The intervention is delivered online, accessible daily via mobile devices. During the study, participants will be monitored for their rate of alcohol-exposed pregnancy risk, as well as risky alcohol use and risky contraception behaviors. Researchers will also evaluate how feasible the intervention is by tracking recruitment, completion, and dropout rates. The total study length for participants is 3 months, during which their behaviors and responses will be assessed to inform future trials.
