What this Trial Is About
This research aims to compare the effectiveness of two anesthesia techniques, inferior alveolar nerve block IANB and computer-controlled digital anesthesia, in children aged 6 to 14 years who have acute dental pain and need emergency root canal treatment on their lower permanent molars. Achieving good anesthesia can be difficult in these cases due to inflammation, making pain control challenging. The study focuses on finding the most effective and comfortable anesthesia method for pediatric dental patients.
Participants will be randomly assigned to one of two groups one receiving the conventional IANB using a dental syringe with articaine and epinephrine, and the other receiving computer-controlled digital anesthesia with the SleeperOne system using the same anesthetic solution. All treatments will be done under standardized clinical conditions to ensure consistency. The study will compare the two methods in terms of how well they block pain and how comfortable they are for the children.
During the study, participants pain will be measured with validated scales while anesthesia is given and during the dental procedure. Additionally, heart rate and blood pressure will be monitored to assess stress responses linked to each anesthesia type. Success of anesthesia will be defined by the absence of pain during treatment and no need for extra anesthesia. The study results aim to guide dentists in choosing the best anesthesia technique for young patients, improving their treatment experience and outcomes.
