What this Trial Is About
Cardiovascular disease is a leading cause of illness and death worldwide, with its occurrence rising significantly from 1990 to 2019. This multi-center, prospective observational study aims to create a comprehensive database for patients undergoing cardiac surgery with cardiopulmonary bypass. The goal is to gather data that will help improve understanding of perioperative risk factors and patient outcomes, ultimately supporting better clinical care and healthcare system improvements. Participants will include adult patients who have cardiac surgeries involving cardiopulmonary bypass, such as valve surgery and coronary artery bypass grafting, at multiple hospitals including the Second Affiliated Hospital of Zhejiang University. Data collected will cover laboratory tests, hemodynamics, intraoperative echocardiography, medications, epidemiology, clinical diagnosis, multimodal data, and follow-up outcomes. The study will build a shared big data platform to integrate these diverse data sources. During the study, participants will be followed from enrollment through one year after surgery. Researchers will collect detailed information on postoperative complications, pain, transfusion strategies, and quality of life at various time points. Outcomes such as major cardiac and cerebrovascular events, transfusion incidence, myocardial infarction, stroke, infection, hospital readmission, length of stay, and hospitalization costs will be monitored. This will support risk assessments, personalized care, and improved surgical management for cardiac surgery patients.
