Researchers are examining the relationship between carotid intima-media thickness CIMT, a non-invasive marker of atherosclerosis, and blood pressure stability during liver transplantation surgery. This observational study focuses on adults aged 18 to 65 undergoing elective liver transplant and aims to understand if CIMT can predict intraoperative blood pressure changes and complications. The study also looks at the connection between CIMT and postoperative kidney injury and major heart events. The study is retrospective and analyzes routine preoperative CIMT ultrasound measurements and detailed intraoperative blood pressure and heart rate data recorded every 2 to 5 minutes during anesthesia and surgery. It includes liver transplant patients treated at a single center between January 2023 and January 2026. Statistical analyses will explore correlations and predictive factors for hemodynamic instability and vasopressor use. Participants data from standard care are reviewed without additional interventions or risks. Researchers will evaluate blood pressure variability, vasopressor doses, and postoperative outcomes. The study helps to identify whether CIMT can guide anesthesia management in liver transplant candidates. The total study period extends until July 2026, collecting and analyzing data from past patients who met the criteria.
