What this Trial Is About

This research aims to evaluate the effect of massage on comfort and fatigue levels in patients undergoing hemodialysis, a common treatment for chronic renal failure. Chronic renal failure causes significant health challenges, and while hemodialysis is widely used, patients often experience physical and psychosocial symptoms that reduce their comfort and quality of life. Fatigue is a frequent issue affecting 60-95% of these patients and can greatly impact daily activities and family life. The study compares two groups: one group receives a 15-20 minute hand and foot massage after hemodialysis sessions twice a week for four weeks, totaling eight massage sessions. The massage involves specific techniques with baby oil applied to reduce friction, aiming to improve comfort and reduce fatigue. The control group receives routine nursing care without massage. Participants will be assessed using the Hemodialysis Comfort Scale and Piper Fatigue Scale over the four-week period. Researchers will monitor changes in comfort and fatigue levels to understand the impact of massage therapy. The study's total duration for participants is four weeks, focusing on these key outcome measures to inform nursing care practices for hemodialysis patients.
