What this Trial Is About

Researchers are studying the effects of the Breastfeeding Self-Efficacy Resources Development Nurse Consultancy Program (EMÖZGEDAP), which is based on Dennis's Breastfeeding Self-Efficacy Theory and hypnobreastfeeding philosophy. This study focuses on pregnant women and their close family members to see how this program influences social support perception, breastfeeding confidence, and breastfeeding outcomes. The study compares an intervention group receiving the program to a control group receiving routine hospital care. The intervention involves individual counseling sessions lasting a total of 7.5 hours, divided into five sessions: two with the mother and her family relatives together, two with the mother alone, and one with the family relatives alone. The program uses techniques such as affirmations, relaxation, breathing exercises, and educational methods like presentations, role-playing, and peer discussions to support breastfeeding self-efficacy and bonding. Participants will be assessed before birth and at 1, 3, and 6 months postpartum using various scales measuring breastfeeding self-efficacy, social support perception, and breastfeeding and nutrition results. These assessments include the Antenatal Breastfeeding Self-Efficacy Scale, Postpartum Breastfeeding Self-Efficacy Scale, and scales for perceived support from close others. The study aims to monitor how the program affects breastfeeding success and the support mothers receive during this time.
