Researchers are comparing the effectiveness of Instrumental Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization (IASTM) and Kinesio taping to improve foot function and quality of life in people with plantar fasciitis. This condition causes heel pain due to inflammation or damage to the plantar fascia, a thick band supporting the foot arch. Plantar fasciitis commonly affects adults aged 25 to 65 who stand or walk for long periods and can lead to painful first steps and ongoing discomfort. The study involves two groups: one receiving IASTM therapy and the other using Kinesio taping. IASTM treatment includes weekly 30-minute sessions with the Graston tool, combined with ultrasound, stretching, and cold therapy, over four weeks. The Kinesio taping group will have elastic tape applied once weekly for four weeks, alongside the same conventional treatments. Both approaches aim to reduce pain and improve foot function and quality of life. Participants will be assessed for foot and ankle function and overall quality of life before and after the four-week treatment using specific scoring tools. Researchers will monitor changes in symptoms and daily function during the study. The trial is randomized and double-blind, including adults aged 20 to 40 who stand more than eight hours daily and have confirmed plantar fasciitis symptoms. This research seeks to identify which treatment better supports foot health and patient well-being.
