Impact Study of a Psycho-education Program for Adults Affected by Sexual Violence

This research aims to evaluate the effects of a psycho-education program designed for victims of sexual violence to find the most effective approach for patients. The program specifically targets individuals who have experienced sexual violence in various forms including childhood, adolescence, incest, and adult rape, either from intimate partners or others. The study involves a therapeutic group that includes patient-partners alongside professional therapists to design and facilitate sessions. Participants will be involved in a psycho-education program consisting of six sessions. The study has two groups one group participates in the psycho-education program, while the other group does not receive the group intervention. The program was initially developed and tested with a small group, and this study seeks to assess its impact more broadly. Throughout the study, researchers will assess participants quality of life, self-esteem, and mental well-being six months after completing the program. Participants will be monitored through these evaluations to determine the programs impact. The total duration of involvement and follow-up will be at least six months after the program ends, with no masking or randomization involved in group assignment.
