This research aims to evaluate adding a group-based stabilization and skill-training intervention to individual outpatient treatment for patients with long-lasting post-traumatic reactions. These patients often face complex psychological and physical symptoms, such as avoidance, emotional regulation difficulties, and reduced quality of life, despite ongoing individual therapy. The study seeks to develop more effective treatment options for people receiving care in community mental health hospitals. Participants are randomly assigned to either receive the combined treatment of weekly 2-hour group stabilization and skill training sessions over 20 weeks plus their usual individual outpatient therapy, or to continue with individual treatment alone. The group sessions are based on a manual developed by a specialized trauma clinic. The study compares these two approaches to assess their impact on recovery. During the study, participants complete questionnaires measuring recovery progress at 4 weeks, 6 months, and 12 months after the group treatment ends. Additional assessments include social and work adjustment, trauma symptoms, well-being, and posttraumatic thoughts. Researchers also examine inflammation markers in blood samples before and after the intervention. The entire study spans several months with ongoing monitoring to understand treatment effects and safety.
