Long Term Results of Aorto-iliac Mycotic Aneurysms

Mycotic aneurysms are infected aneurysms that can occur in the aorta and iliac arteries, though they are considered uncommon and often underdiagnosed. This research aims to study the long-term results of surgical treatments for mycotic aorto-iliac aneurysms by gathering data from multiple centers. The study focuses on patients who have undergone in situ reconstruction as a treatment for these infected aneurysms. The study is observational and involves examining patients who had surgical repair of mycotic aortic-iliac aneurysms with in situ reconstruction. The surgical methods include open surgery, which is the current standard, and endovascular repair, which is less invasive but may carry more risk of infection. The study collects information retrospectively from participating centers without assigning specific treatments. Participants' data will be reviewed to assess early mortality, defined as death within 30 days after surgery, among other outcomes. Researchers will analyze surgical outcomes and complications related to these treatments over time. Since this is a retrospective study, there is no active treatment or follow-up required from participants, and the study duration depends on data collection periods across centers.
