AI-Summary

What this Trial Is About

This research aims to explore the role of Palliative and Supportive Care (PSC) in helping people with inflammatory arthritis live well throughout their disease. It focuses on understanding the needs of patients and how PSC might support them, particularly for those experiencing pain, stiffness, fatigue, and emotional challenges. The study will gather patient views and healthcare professional perspectives to identify unmet needs and develop recommendations for future care and research. The study is observational and consists of three parts: online interviews with people who have inflammatory arthritis to learn their views on PSC; surveys sent to rheumatologists, primary care, community, and palliative care healthcare professionals to understand current collaboration and opinions on PSC; and online focus groups involving patients, healthcare providers, charity representatives, and health service commissioners to discuss findings and agree on care gaps and priorities. Participants will take part through online interviews, surveys, and focus groups using platforms like Microsoft Teams or telephone. Researchers will collect and analyze their feedback to measure key outcomes over approximately one year. The study aims to provide insights that can improve clinical practice and research to better support people living with inflammatory arthritis over time, including those receiving or not receiving palliative care services.
