What this Trial Is About

Researchers are investigating how to improve risk prediction for patients with Takotsubo syndrome, a heart condition that affects heart muscle function. This observational study aims to develop a new clinical and imaging score by combining data from echocardiography and cardiac magnetic resonance imaging (CMR). The study also explores how machine learning models can enhance prediction of both short-term and long-term patient outcomes compared to existing risk scores. Participants in this study will have data collected from clinical evaluations, standard transthoracic echocardiography, and CMR scans. These imaging techniques provide detailed information about heart structure and function, including right ventricular performance and tissue characterization. The study will analyze these combined data to create a more accurate risk assessment tool. Researchers will compare the new risk score with previously established scores and assess the added value of machine learning methods. During the study, participants will undergo baseline clinical assessments and imaging tests. Researchers will follow patients over time to monitor outcomes such as mortality within two years. The study focuses on gathering comprehensive data to evaluate the relationship between imaging findings and patient prognosis. This approach aims to support better management and treatment decisions for those affected by Takotsubo syndrome.
