Observational Study Evaluating Strategic Psychotherapy Outcomes in Adults with Mental Disorders in Private Practice

What this Trial Is About

This observational study examines the outcomes of Strategic Psychotherapy, a brief and goal-focused psychological treatment, for adults aged 16 years or older who seek therapy in private practice settings. It aims to assess whether this therapy helps improve psychological well-being, reduce symptoms, and enhance daily functioning in patients with clinically diagnosed mental disorders. The research compares these results with data from a non-clinical group to understand the impact of the therapy better. Participants receive Strategic Psychotherapy from two certified therapists in private practices, with treatment tailored to specific therapeutic goals. The study includes all adult patients who voluntarily seek this therapy between January 2021 and December 2025. Alongside the clinical group, a non-clinical control group is assessed to provide comparison data over a similar follow-up period. During the study, participants complete two psychological questionnaires, SCL-90-R and CORE-OM, before starting therapy and again at the end of treatment, typically after 12 to 16 weeks depending on the number of sessions attended. Additional information such as medication use, family involvement, and patient feedback on therapy is collected. Researchers will analyze changes in questionnaire scores to measure therapy outcomes and monitor psychological symptom changes throughout the study duration, which ends in December 2026.
