Researchers are conducting a multicenter, longitudinal observational study to collect data on patients with moderate-high or high-risk pulmonary embolism. This registry includes both past cases from 2014 and ongoing cases from 2018 onward. The study aims to describe how different catheter-based treatments are used in emergency care and to evaluate their safety and effectiveness for acute pulmonary embolism, following guidelines from the European Society of Cardiology in 2019. Participants are patients admitted for pulmonary embolism who receive invasive catheter-directed interventions. This study does not assign treatments but observes and records the use and outcomes of these procedures as they occur in real-world medical settings. The registry gathers information from the initial hospital admission through follow-up periods, documenting acute management and related medical events. Throughout the study, participants' health status is monitored during their hospital stay, focusing on outcomes such as death from any cause within the hospital admission period up to 10 days. Additional measures include death rates at 48 hours, 30 days, and two years, procedural success within 48 hours, and any complications occurring during hospitalization. Data collection continues over an extended period, with the study planned to run until the end of 2030 to capture long-term outcomes.
