Eligibility Criteria

Eligible

You may qualify if you...

  • Age 22 years or older
  • Currently receiving preoperative care or assessment for disc herniation surgery
  • No history of cardiovascular disease except controlled hypertension
  • Willing to wear the smartwatch for a minimum of 8 consecutive hours during the night before surgery
  • Able to follow smartwatch instructions and operate it independently
  • No known allergy to nickel
Not Eligible

You will not qualify if you...

  • Currently taking prescribed medication for sleep in a clinical setting
  • Unwilling to participate in the study
  • Fails to wear the smartwatch correctly or as instructed, resulting in incomplete or unreliable data
