Who Can Participate
Eligibility Criteria
You may qualify if you...
- Age of 60 years or older
- Medically stable to participate as determined by treating physician (stable vital signs, no new or worsening medical events)
- Currently admitted to the geriatric assessment unit (GAU) at St. Mary's hospital
You will not qualify if you...
- Medically unstable with unstable vital signs, delirium, or new/worsening medical issues
- Unable to communicate in English or French
- Behavioral issues or delirium limiting participation
- Very severe dementia (Reisberg stage 7) with very limited communication and full dependence for self-care
- Insufficient hearing to consent or participate in the music intervention
- Eye conditions affecting ability to use VR (recent surgery, severe macular degeneration, glaucoma, epilepsy, seizures)
