AI-Summary

What this Trial Is About

Researchers are evaluating the use of a dental-dedicated 0.55T MRI combined with a specialized dental coil to produce images for diagnosing various dental conditions. The study aims to determine if these MRI images provide sufficient diagnostic value compared to traditional dental X-rays. Conditions studied include temporomandibular joint disorders, tissue changes related to third molars, periapical and periodontal inflammation, and implant treatment planning. Participants will undergo MRI scans focused on teeth and surrounding structures using this dental-specific MRI device. The MRI images will be compared to conventional dental imaging methods such as CBCT and panoramic X-rays used for different dental indications. The study includes patients referred for imaging related to endodontic issues, periodontal assessment, TMJ evaluation, third molar treatment planning, and implant preparation. During the study, participants will receive the dental-dedicated MRI examination, and researchers will assess the diagnostic quality of these images over approximately 2.5 years. The primary outcome is to evaluate the application of this MRI technology for dental diagnoses including temporomandibular joint disorders and inflammatory dental diseases. Participants must be adults and will be monitored for the diagnostic value of MRI compared to standard dental imaging techniques.
