What this Trial Is About
This research aims to test a communication coaching intervention designed to improve the quality of interactions between adolescent and young adult cancer survivors (AYACS) and their friends or peers. The study will help understand how best to support AYACS and may guide the development of similar programs for cancer survivor populations. It focuses on enhancing communication skills among survivors aged 18 to 35 years who have completed cancer treatment. Participants will engage in a combination of asynchronous communication coaching sessions and artificial intelligence (AI) Yoodli coach sessions. The intervention includes individual online sessions using Rise 360 software with interactive lessons about communication styles and multiple goals theory, followed by personalized 20-minute AI coaching sessions with Yoodli. These sessions aim to reinforce communication concepts and simulate peer conversation situations. During the study, participants will be assessed on communication quality, anxiety, depression, and social isolation at baseline and after the intervention, with follow-up up to one month post-intervention. The study measures both quantitative and qualitative aspects of intervention feasibility and acceptability. Participants will access sessions via the internet and complete questionnaires and assessments to track progress and outcomes throughout the study.
