What this Trial Is About

Pregnancy can bring significant physical, psychological, and emotional stress for women. This research aims to evaluate how childbirth preparation classes affect pregnant women's feelings of spousal support, their birth satisfaction, birth memories, and birth preferences. The study compares women who attend these classes with their spouses, those who attend alone, and a control group receiving usual care. Participants will be divided into three groups: a control group receiving usual care with no intervention, a partnerless education group, and a partnered education group. The education groups will attend weekly two-hour childbirth preparation sessions for five weeks, covering pregnancy, birth, breastfeeding, parenthood preparation, and baby care with small groups of 6 to 8 women. During the study, participants will complete forms and questionnaires at registration, after education, and during the first postpartum week. Researchers will assess spousal support during pregnancy, birth satisfaction, birth memories, birth method preference, and the actual childbirth method used. The study includes randomized group assignment and double masking. The total participation timeline includes education over five weeks and follow-up assessments during the first postpartum week.
