What this Trial Is About
Researchers are investigating the connections between mental health, psychosomatic factors, and adverse childhood experiences (ACE) in a wide age range from school-age children to adults in China. The study includes participants such as students from various school grades, their teachers, and parents. This observational study aims to better understand how psychological well-being, physical symptoms, and early life stressors interact through validated scales and behavioral tests. Participants include grade 4 to 6 primary school students aged 9 to 12, grade 7 to 12 middle and high school students aged 12 to 18, teachers, and parents. The study collects data through psychometric questionnaires and behavioral experiments designed to evaluate mental health and physical symptoms. Different groups are observed over time to capture changes and relationships among mental and psychosomatic health factors. During the study, participants will complete assessments on irritability, alexithymia, depression, anxiety, PTSD, non-suicidal self-injury (NSSI), suicide risk, emotion recognition, executive function, and yearly evaluations of adverse childhood experiences. These outcomes are monitored at varying intervals from two weeks to one year. The study runs until the end of 2026 and involves healthy volunteers from school communities, gathering comprehensive data to understand mental and physical health across life stages.
