What this Trial Is About

Researchers are studying Alzheimer's disease, focusing on early brain changes before symptoms become clear. The goal is to create models that can predict who might progress to mild cognitive impairment or dementia by looking at a combination of personal, cognitive, behavioral, MRI brain scans, genetic, and blood-based markers. Understanding these early changes is important since current treatments for late-stage Alzheimer's are limited, and early identification may help guide future interventions. The study involves collecting detailed brain imaging using various MRI techniques along with behavioral tests, genetic testing, and plasma biomarker analysis. Participants include people without memory complaints, those with subjective memory concerns, individuals with mild cognitive impairment, and patients diagnosed with Alzheimer's dementia. These groups are carefully classified based on cognitive testing and clinical assessments. The research uses advanced imaging and analytical methods to explore brain structure and function, gene interactions, and biomarker associations across different disease stages. Participants will undergo multiple assessments including MRI scans, behavioral evaluations, genetic and plasma tests at the start and during follow-up. The main outcome is analyzing the ability of these combined features to predict cognitive decline over several years. Researchers will also study how brain imaging markers relate to genetic and plasma biomarkers and cognitive or behavioral changes. The study lasts several years with assessments at baseline and annual follow-ups to monitor progression and gather comprehensive data for diagnostic and prognostic model development.
