Data and Sample Collection Study for Adults with Known or Suspected Gastrointestinal Diseases to Support Future Research

What this Trial Is About

Researchers are studying adults who have known or suspected gastrointestinal diseases or who need screening, treatment, or follow-up according to medical guidelines. The study aims to collect data and biological samples from these patients during their clinical care to support future research on gastrointestinal conditions. Participants receive standard care as they would at a doctors office while allowing their data and samples to be used for research purposes. Participants may provide blood, urine, and stool samples. If they undergo procedures like endoscopy or colonoscopy as part of their regular care, leftover or extra samples such as gastric acid or tissue from the stomach or intestines may be collected for research. All data and samples will be securely stored and coded by the National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases NIDDK. Throughout the study, participants will attend medical visits for their gastrointestinal condition with treatments managed by doctors. Researchers will review physical exams, medical records, and collected samples to support future studies. Participation continues as long as the individual agrees to be seen for their condition, with ongoing data collection during evaluation, treatment, and follow-up visits.
