AI-Summary

What this Trial Is About

This research aims to create a national database of infective endocarditis by collecting detailed information from volunteer medical centers across the country. It focuses on describing the clinical, microbiological, therapeutic, and progression aspects of infective endocarditis, analyzing risk factors and prognosis, and comparing real-world drug and surgical treatments. Data collected includes clinical characteristics such as heart disease history, symptoms, and complications; biological and microbiological details like microorganism identification and antibiotic sensitivity; echocardiographic features; and treatment details including antibiotic and surgical interventions. All information is recorded using standardized electronic case report forms by physicians during patient hospitalization. Participants will have their medical history, biological markers, imaging, and treatment data collected and monitored throughout hospitalization. Researchers will evaluate factors like heart disease history, infection origin, clinical symptoms, biological and microbiological outcomes, imaging results, and treatments from inclusion to recovery. Optional biological sample collection may also occur. The study is ongoing with data collected since 1991, led by Central Hospital, Nancy, France.
