Prognosis of Patients With Infective Endocarditis and Risk Stratification Value of Biomarkers (ENDEAVOR): a National Multi-center, Retrospective-prospective, Cohort Study

Researchers are investigating the prognosis and risk factors of infective endocarditis, a serious infection of the heart's inner lining caused by bacteria, fungi, or other microorganisms entering the bloodstream. This study aims to understand how the disease progresses and improves over time by collecting detailed clinical data. It also uses advanced multi-omics technology to study biomarkers that may help predict outcomes, offering new insights for diagnosis and treatment of infective endocarditis. This is an observational study without any interventions given. It involves patients diagnosed with infective endocarditis who will be followed over time to observe their natural disease course. The study collects various biological samples for analysis and monitors patients at multiple time points after enrollment, extending up to five years. Participants will undergo regular evaluations at 1, 3, and 6 months, and then annually up to 5 years after joining the study. Researchers will track important health outcomes such as major adverse cardiovascular and cerebrovascular events (MACCE), infection recurrence, thrombus complications, heart attacks, strokes, vessel revascularization, and overall survival. The study is designed to provide long-term information on disease progression and patient prognosis, with no treatment assigned by the study team.
