Who Can Participate
Eligibility Criteria
You may qualify if you...
- Age between 18 and 75 years old inclusive
- Signed informed consent
- Fasting before biological sample collection
- Declared Polynesian ancestry
- Affiliated with a social security scheme
- General population group: Not participated in the 2021 TOPATA study and visiting a general practitioner for any reason
- Gout group: Managed at the rheumatology clinic of the Taaone Hospital Centre in Papeete
- Tophaceous gout subgroup: Present with tophaceous gout
- Gout crisis subgroup: Within 48 hours of gout attack onset and agree to return 1 week after inclusion for second samples
- 2021 follow-up group: Previously included in the TOPATA study with certain genetic and biological data and specific hyperuricaemia or gout status
You will not qualify if you...
- Refusal or inability to understand or give consent
- Physical inability to follow and respect the protocol
- First degree relative already included in the study from the same household (only one person allowed, except couples)
- Under guardianship or trusteeship
- Pregnant or breastfeeding woman
- General population group: Unable to return for sampling if required
- Gout group: Wearing a knee prosthesis
- Gout group: Having other inflammatory rheumatic diseases
