What this Trial Is About
Researchers are evaluating the effects of wound lavage using two different agents, 2.5% calcium hypochlorite CaOCl2 and 2.5% sodium hypochlorite NaOCl, on the outcome of partial pulpotomy in mature permanent mandibular molars diagnosed with symptomatic irreversible pulpitis SIP. The study aims to compare clinical and radiographic success rates at 6 and 12 months, as well as to assess oral health-related quality of life OHRQoL and pain experiences following treatment. Participants receive partial pulpotomy treatment where the inflamed pulp tissue is partially removed and the wound is irrigated with either 2.5% CaOCl2 or 2.5% NaOCl. Haemostasis is achieved using cotton pellets soaked in the respective solution applied for up to 10 minutes. Following this, ProRoot MTA is placed over the pulp tissue, covered with resin-modified glass ionomer cement RMGIC, and finally restored with composite resin. Postoperative radiographs are taken for evaluation at 6 and 12 months. Participants will be assessed for clinical signs and radiographic outcomes at scheduled follow-ups. Pain levels and OHRQoL are measured at baseline and daily for one week after treatment. The study also involves monitoring for any complications or treatment failures. The total observation period includes assessments at 6 and 12 months after treatment to evaluate the long-term success of the procedures.
