This research aims to evaluate the short- and medium-term effects of a yoga program compared to health education on fatigue in adults with post COVID-19 syndrome. The study focuses on patients experiencing persistent fatigue for at least 12 weeks following confirmed COVID-19 infection. The trial is designed to understand how these interventions may impact fatigue and related symptoms in this population. Participants are randomly assigned to one of two 12-week programs. The yoga group attends one 90-minute session per week and is encouraged to practice yoga themselves twice weekly for 30 minutes. The yoga therapy includes postures, breathing techniques, and relaxation exercises aimed at addressing fatigue symptoms and improving respiratory function. The health education group also receives weekly 90-minute sessions covering topics like post-COVID syndrome, stress management, nutrition, sleep hygiene, exercise, and coping strategies, along with similar self-practice schedules. Throughout the study, participants are monitored at 12 and 24 weeks for changes in fatigue levels, quality of life, psychological symptoms, sleep quality, stress, body awareness, and self-efficacy. Additional assessments include physical strength, movement tracking, heart rate variability, and blood markers. Safety is tracked regularly, and cost questionnaires are completed. The total participation includes baseline assessments and follow-ups over 24 weeks to capture both immediate and lasting effects of the interventions.
