What this Trial Is About

Researchers are comparing two methods of blood flow restriction trainingusing a band tissue flossing method and a traditional pneumatic cuff methodfor people aged 40 to 60 years with knee osteoarthritis. This condition causes pain and limits the ability to perform high load strengthening exercises. Blood flow restriction training helps strengthen muscles with lower loads, potentially easing symptoms. The study aims to assess how these two methods affect pain, range of motion, muscle strength, and functional status. Participants will be randomly assigned to one of two groups Group A will perform seated knee extension and knee press exercises with a floss band tied around the proximal thigh, stretched at 50%. Group B will do the same exercises with a pneumatic cuff applied to the thigh at 40% limb occlusion pressure. Exercises consist of 4 sets with repetitions of 30, 15, 15, and 15, performed three times a week for four weeks at 20% of one repetition maximum. During the study, outcomes will be measured at baseline, after the first session, after two weeks, and after four weeks. These measures include pain rating using the Numeric Pain Rating Scale, knee flexion and extension range of motion, quadriceps strength, the WOMAC index for osteoarthritis, and functional tests like the 30 Second Sit to Stand and Timed Up and Go tests. The study will monitor participant progress through these assessments over the four-week treatment period.
